MOSCTHA is working, in conjunction with APPA, (the Fisherman's Association for Environmental Protection of Anse a Pitre,) on a project to imrpove the skills of fisherman in the community of Anse a Pitre in the southeast province of the Dominican Republic.

Many of the fisherman of the area are members of APPA. They face a number of difficulties that limit their results. Many fisherman do not know how to alter their fishing techniques based upon the season, nor do they have adequate tools to properly fish with.

Our goal since working with APPA is to develop a training process for these people in which they can better learn techniques to fish with and also provide them with basic fishing equipment kits, Thus benefiting 150 fisherman directly.
